NHTA Ltd, founded in 1983, provides government approved training and accreditation, predominantly through the Skills Funding Agency, in (NVQ) Diplomas and Apprenticeships in Hairdressing, Barbering and Customer Service underpinned by Key Skills/Functional Skills (Literacy, Numeracy and ICT).

We are driven by continually improving the quality of our training, promoting equal opportunities and safeguarding and providing the stepping stones and support for learners to achieve both in their training with NHTA and success in everyday life.

Many of NHTA’s past learners have not only completed their (NVQ) Diplomas to a Level 3 standard but have gained further assessing qualifications and become trainers themselves. Other past learners have evolved into top stylists in the East Midlands area often moving on to salon management and/or establishing their own salons and maintaining their training link with NHTA. So career progression is both real and achievable.

NHTA consists of a fully commercial salon and training academy in Nottingham city centre and our head office just a short distance away.

Learners, other than those in school, are helped into employment in hairdressing salons in the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire area. Apprentices are trained and assessed both in the NHTA premises and their salons achieving each qualification in periods of up to two years.

Learning with NHTA also has some additional benefits such as the guest stylists we invite to NHTA to further progress the skills of the learners, trips to salon trade shows and our well know professional hair shows for all levels of the hairdressing provision. We also provide workshops for learners in areas like spray tanning, make up and hair-ups to make them more employable in their salons and to ensure the learners get the best training and opportunities they can.
